Is PrEP right for me?

PrEP is a medication that can prevent HIV when taken as prescribed. Answer the questions below to learn whether PrEP is right for you.

1. Are you HIV positive?(Required)
PrEP is a medication for people who don’t have HIV but who could be at risk of contracting HIV, such as people who have anal sex without a condom, and people who have an HIV-positive sexual partner. PrEP is not for people who are HIV positive.

2. Have you had anal or vaginal sex in the past 6 months?(Required)

• Was a condom used every time?
3. Have you been diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease in the past 6 months?(Required)
4. Do you use injection drugs?(Required)
• Do you share needles, syringes, or other drug injection equipment (for example, cookers)?
◦ Does your injection partner(s) have HIV?
5. Have you been prescribed PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) and continue to participate in activities that put you at risk for HIV infection (e.g. shared needles or works for drug injection, or had anal or vaginal sex but did not use condoms every time)?(Required)
6. Have you been prescribed and used multiple courses of PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis)?(Required)
